Oral Exam

Apart from being essential for maintaining oral health, routine oral examinations help your dentist to evaluate and prevent the risk of oral cancer and tooth decay. During an oral examination, we perform an aesthetic evaluation of your teeth, such as checking the spacing of your teeth and state of your bite. All past dental restorations and x-rays will be checked and the patient’s medical and dental history will be reviewed. Lastly, we thoroughly examine  your gums for diseases and any signs for oral cancer.

Digital X-ray

Using a specialized digital sensor, this type of eco-friendly technology (which uses less radiation than traditional X-ray technology) captures images of your teeth. The image is seen in a matter of seconds. On the other hand, the traditional X-rays (or dental radiographs) allow your dentist to detect abnormalities and oral diseases that are not visible during an examination. It is a crucial diagnostic tool designed to find cavities and detect bone loss, abnormal growths, oral cancer, and imperfections.

Periodontal Examination

Periodontal (or gum) treatment is required when the tissues surrounding and supporting the teeth are affected. Gingivitis is usually the first sign of gum disease. Left untreated, gingivitis can progress to periodontitis (the leading reason for tooth loss in adults). Signs of periodontitis are bleeding gums and bad breath. In its early stages, we can treat gum disease by curettage, deep cleaning below the gum line that numbs up the concerned teeth.

Dental Cleaning

At Bayside Dental Clinic, we believe that every dental cleaning session is essential to maintaining optimal dental health. We approach dental cleaning with our patient’s comfort in mind. Every session includes plaque and tartar removal and teeth polishing followed by an examination. We are a family based business, and we clean kids teach as early as __ years old!

Fluoride Application

Application of fluoride to teeth is one of the easiest and effective ways to prevent tooth decay. Fluoride helps strengthen the teeth by counteracting the damaging effects of harmful bacteria present on the tooth enamel.

Bayside Dental Clinic is committed to help you on the path to good oral health. During each visit, we ensure that each patient receives individualized oral health education for proper maintenance of their mouth, teeth, and gums. Good knowledge of dental care empowers you in taking the right dental decision for you and your family.
