Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
At our dental clinic in Saint John, dental technology is used to diagnose a variety of oral health conditions.
Using scanners and X-ray machines, our dentists can get a closer look at oral health conditions above and below the gum line that may otherwise be difficult to detect. The goal is to catch developing conditions early, while they are most treatable.
Using chairside monitors, our team will display your scans to use as a visual to explain what is going on as well as your treatment plan.
Our goal is to provide patients with dental care while making sure they are fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us do that.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays use digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-ray film. This is an eco-friendly alternative that also uses less radiation than traditional X-ray technology. It is a crucial diagnostic tool designed to spot cavities and detect bone loss, abnormal growths and oral cancer.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to capture a single flat image of your entire mouth, including your teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and the nasal and sinus structures. These X-rays are often used to help plan treatments for dentures, extractions and implants.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners are used to create digital dental impressions. Your dentist simply waves the optical scanning wand in your mouth to take a digital image of your oral cavity, including your hard and soft tissues. These scans are often used for planning other treatments, such as dentures and implants.
